KARACHI: The Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB/R&D) of Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West, while following the directives of Collector Muhammad Saleem, has initiated yet another phase of revenue recovery.
Sources informed Customs Today that while scrutinising the post import clearance data, the officials of AIB/R&D have detected another 43 short revenue recovery cases.
They further informed that the AIB/R&D has detected the violation of SRO1125/2011, SRO565 and SRO575 and others while scrutinising the post clearance data of the imported consignments.
Replying to a query, sources further informed that the AIB/R&D has also detected cases regardomg short revenue recovery of millions of rupees in violation of different SROs in importation of various consignments.
They further said that the AIB/R&D after finalizing the short revenue amount would start to issue demand notices to importers who found involve in depositing the short revenue against their cleared consignments.
Replying to a query, the sources further said that the officials of the AIB/R&D would also make contravention reports against those importers who will fail to deposit/submit the arrears on time.
Responding to another query, sources said that the AIB/R&D after finalizing the list of the importers who committed violation of SROs has sent to the Collector Appraisement-West, Muhammad Saleem for final approval and would initiate revenue recovery process from next week i.e. on Monday
