KARACHI: Collector Customs Quetta Saeed Jadoon has said that ongoing crackdown against non-registered and non-duty paid vehicles will continue in future as well.
Talking to Customs Today, Collector Jadoon said that four show rooms are still operational in Quetta where un-registered vehicles are being parked. He said during last eleven months we have recovered 514 un-registered vehicles. Answering a question he said that we already achieved the assigned target of Rs 4.3 million in just seven months of current fiscal year.
He said there are 27 districts in Balochsitan while only 500 workforce of Customs Department are deployed in all these districts. He said that due to strict measures adopted by Customs Quetta, a marginal decrease is being witnessed in smuggling.
He said we are going to further tighten these measures because we are determined to root out the smuggling menace from the society.
