KARACHI: Collector Appraisement West Dr Owais Jawwad Agha has directed the officials concerned of the Customs Collectorate to take up and settle the audit paras sent by the Directorate General of Internal Audit on merit and also send notices to the importers in case of any recovery generated against them.
Sources told Customs Today that Dr Jawwad has also asked the authorities concerned to ensure early disposal of the audit paras so that revenue would be enhanced before the completion of third quarter of the fiscal year 2015-16.
The Collector Appraisement West has also encouraged the officials of the Collectorate, particularly of the Post Release Verification (PRV) Unit and Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB), to detect short recovery, tax evasion and mis-declaration cases.
Responding to a query, the sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate were not paying any heed towards the audit paras sent by the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs.
