LAHORE: Collector of Customs Appeals Dr Asif Mehmood Jah has held fund raising and iftar dinner under the banner of Customs Healthcare Society for the rehabilitation of Syrian refugees in Turkey.
A large number of customs officers including Collector of Customs Appraisement Jamil Nasir, Additional Collector Munib Sarwar, Deputy Collector of Customs Sadia Munib, intellectuals, journalists including Orea Maqbool Jan, Sohail Wariach, Ch Aslam, Altaf Hussain Qureshi, Turkish nationals including Hakki Aygon, Hayrai Yardim, Freudoon and others were present on the occasion.
Speakers on the occasion appreciated Dr Asif Jah for his welfare and rehablitaion work for the rehabilitation of the Syrian refugees in Turkey.
They said that Dr Asif is not only discharging his professional duties in better way but also doing a great deal of welfare projects for the cause of align humanity without the discrimination of creed and cast.
They said that Dr Asif Jah has been using the donated money in the right direction for the cause of poor, needy and destitute strata of the society.
They added that his works for the causes of humanity must be appreciated and more and more people should come to strengthen his hands to do further good to the deprived and needy people.
Customs Healthcare Society has duly been recognized and approved by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Government of Pakistan.
Established in 1998 as a non-profit, non-government organization, the primary objective of the society is to provide free medical facilities to indignant patients as also to create among them the awareness of preventive measures about wide spread diseases.
The society recently started working for the care and welfare of Syrian refugees living in Turkey. Other welfare projects of the society include digging of water wells in Thar and installation of hand pump in Baluchistan.
