ISLAMABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Seema Raza Bukhari has summoned the accused in case No. 41/2018 of 1,050 kilograms smuggled cloth.
According to notice no, Cus/Coll/Adj/55/2018 issued by Collector Customs Adjudication Seemz Raza Bukhari that the Customs Anti-Smuggling Staff under the supervision of Deputy Director Anti-Smuggling Peshawar in coordination with local police raided dumping ground situated in Karkhano Market Peshawar on the information received by Customs Anti-Smuggling department. The operation continued for three hours which resulted into recovery of foreign-origin cloth of quantity 350 (thans) around 1,050 kilograms.
Notice added that Ajmal Khan, son of Said Ahmed, resident of Yakka Thoot Peshawar, claimed the ownership of seized cloth which was seized under section 168 of Customs Act 1969 for the violation of 2(s) and 16 of Customs Act 1969 section 3 (1) of Import Export (Control) Act 1950.
Further to the notice issued, Collector Adjudication Islamabad Seema Raza Bukhari called Ajmal Khan on May 31 to appear before the Collector Adjudication to show the cause as to why the F/O seized goods should not be confiscated and why penal action should not be taken against the accused section 56(1)(9) (14)of the customs action 1969 in case of failing to appear or providing lawful evidence of goods before the Collector office on the fix date.
