KARACHI: Collector Customs Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui has served a final notice on a defaulter company i.e. M/s GS Enterprises, Karachi and recovered Rs6.45 million from M/s Glamour Tiles and Export, located in Landhi, Karachi.
Sources told Customs Today M/s GS Enterprises, Karachi was allegedly involved in tax evasion. The company imported different types of kids garments, curtain fabrics, fancy plastic sheets on January 12, 2018 and cleared by Examiner Shahid Hussain using the wrong PCT heading.
After completing necessary scrutiny, the Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to the company on June 25, according to which the company has been directed to clear the outstanding amount of Rs6 million within 14 days.
Source said that another company M/s Glamour Tiles and Export also got cleared a consignment of fancy tiles, fancy taps, kitchen accessories, fancy jail, and pipes on January 19, 2018 and evaded a tax amount of Rs6.45 million.
Sourced said that the Customs Adjudication-I served a show-cause notice on the company on May 6, 2018, and again issued a reminder on May 17.
Collector Customs Adjudication-I Asif Marghoob Siddiqui issued a final notice to the company on June 4, 2018. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs6.45 million in favour of the Customs Department on June 25, 2018.
