LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation committee on Friday to record his statement relating to clean water scam.
A three-member NAB team grilled Hamza for around two hours. While speaking to the media after the questioning, Shehbaz said he was never a member of clean water company board and merely attended five of its meetings.
Shehbaz added that he had never indulged in corrupt practices so “why should I be scared of anything.” He went on to add that he had been visiting NAB for 10 years and they were never able to prove him guilty. “No one is higher than the law,” the PML-N leader said. “I will come whenever I’m summoned to.”
He also took the opportunity to point out that people of Pakistan should not forget about PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari’s Swiss bank accounts as they have to hold him accountable as well. Hamza also took a jibe at PTI chief Imran Khan, saying those accompanying him were involved in waiving off bank loans and encroaching government land.
