KARACHI: Chief Collector (Enforcement) Muhammad Yahya on Thursday presided over a high-level meeting on anti-smuggling activities, at 5th floor in Customs House, Karachi.
Collector of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive S M Tariq Huda, Deputy Collectors, Assistant Collectors and officials of anti-smuggling organization (ASO) attended the meeting. In the meeting, performance of the ASO was reviewed and the chief collector stressed upon to give maximum outputs in available resources.
A detailed discussion was also held on adopting a strategy in order to curb smuggling activities. The performance of Pakistan Customs Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) was also reviewed in the meeting.
The recent case of stealing of NATO containers from the yard of a private company at Port Qasim also came under discussion and it was decided that further investigation in all dimensions would be carried out into the case.
On the occasion, Chief Collector (Enforcement) urged the Customs officials to remain vigilant in order to restrain smuggling activities.
