ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan will personally hear Senior Preventive Officer Matiullah’s point of view tomorrow.
The FBR has already suspended the performance allowance of the official on the charges of corruption, misconduct and violation of rules and regulations. Sources told Customs Today that the official may be dismissed from service due to serious charges against him. Sources said that during the investigations, Matiullah was found involved in corruption and violations of rules and regulations.
Member Administration FBR Majid Qureshi provided two opportunities to Matiullah to prove his innocence but the he remained failed to satisfy the high officials about his innocence. Upon his failure the top management of the FBR decided to award him punishment.
Sources said that he filed an appeal with chairman FBR to explain his point of view. Now chairman FBR will conduct the hearing of his case on November 3 in his office. Sources said that chairman FBR already informed Matiullah that he should bring documentary proves with him while explaining his point of view during hearing of case. Chairman FBR also sought complete record of the case against Matiullah.
Sources said that after hearing the point of view Senior Preventive Offier Matiullah, chairman Federal Board of Revenue Nisar Mohammad Khan will take a final decision about the future of the official.
It is necessary to mention here that chairman FBR reserves the right to increase or decrease the punishment of any employee or official.
