LAHORE: Chairman Anti Smuggling committee has said that the government must withdraw extra customs duty on imports from different countries to control the 10 billion dollar smuggling annually. If government takes measures the importers also will take legal ways to import their items.
The executive committee member of Mobile spare parts importers and dealers association and chairman anti smuggling committee told to Customs Today that smuggling is big threat for the economy of Pakistan and without decreasing the customs duties it is difficult to curb smuggling in country.
He added that every year five to ten billion dollars smuggled goods creates big loss for national economy. He added that auto parts dealers’ already paying 15 percent customs duty and 16 percent creates threats for the auto parts industry.
