ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) would auction 78 commercial and residential plots in developed sectors of the city next month to generate revenue.
The civic body will earn around Rs 8 billion from the auction of these plots, CDA board also approved the summary in this regard. Plot auctions are a major source of income for the authority, and have been for decades, as the authority has failed to improve alternate sources of income.
Meanwhile CDA also approved accommodation policy for its employees, according to this policy those employees having their own plots would not entitle for government accommodations.
A large number of CDA employees who had been allotted plots were living in government accommodation despite the allotments. CDA directed that plot holding employees should vacate government housing so that the accommodation can be allotted to employees who have not been allotted land.
