In partnership with the Government of Canada’s scale.ai programme, supply chain specialist Nulogy has launched a collaborative initiative to make Canada an “international leader in the field of artificial intelligence applied to supply chains”.
The industry-led project involves a number of companies – like Nulogy – that have received investment to drive the scale.ai vision of AI-powered logistics forward, and CEO of Nulogy Jason Tham addressed representatives at a launch event on June 27, 2019.
According to a statement, Nulogy’s project involves the application of AI to “the late-stage customization phase” of the consumer goods supply chain and will see the company work alongside Canadian suppliers like Mars Canada.
As part of the initiative, suppliers cooperating with Nulogy will leverage AI and its Agile Customization Platform to digitize this part of the supply chain.
Jon Willis, Head of Supply Chain at Mars Canada, said: ““Through this initiative, we expect to dramatically improve collaboration and reduce waste, with our external manufacturing and packaging suppliers.
“As the retail and consumer landscape continues to be disrupted, agility is more important than ever for manufacturers like Mars.
“We are excited to work with our strategic late-stage customization suppliers and alongside Nulogy to be part of this groundbreaking Canadian-led innovation that will set an example for supply chains around the globe.”
