CALIFORNIA: Even though Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is only halfway onto the Xbox 360 (due to the campaign mode being removed in order to try and galvanize people to buy an Xbox One), players on the 360 will still be able to play the DLC Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening soon when it comes to the 360.
Originally, Microsoft had said that the Xbox 360, while it would be getting the Black Ops 3 multiplayer upon the game’s release, would not be getting any of the game’s multiplayer DLC in order to convince people to move on to the Xbox One. However, it appears that this was a bluff due to Xbox 360 players getting Black Ops 3 Awakening.
The pack coming to the Xbox 360 was confirmed by Major Nelson on his Twitter, and he said that Black Ops 3 Awakening would be released to the 360 on May 5. However, there’s been no word from Activision as to whether or not Awakening will also be coming to the Playstation 3.
Awakening came with a number of different maps and weapons for players to fight one another on, and was a solid start to the various DLC packs that the game would be getting in the future. The second DLC pack, titled “Eclipse,” was released on the Playstation 4 on April 19, but there’s no word on when it will be releasing for the Xbox One.
Eclipse, when it releases for the Xbox One, will be including four new maps (Spire, Knockout, Rift, and Verge) and a new Zombie Map, Zetsubou No Shima (a departure from the normal Nazi zombies, and instead getting Imperial Japanese zombies from World War 2.)
If any of you still have an Xbox 360 that you use to play Call of Duty Black Ops 3, you should probably cherish the fact that you’re getting Black Ops 3 Awakening; this is the last DLC pack that you’ll be getting on the 360.
