Ireland : A Brexit under which Britain leaves the single market and customs union will do as much economic damage to Ireland as it will to the UK, according to the International Monetary Fund.
In a paper on the consequences of Brexit for the European Union, the world’s financial watchdog said that “the departure of the UK from the EU will inevitably represent a loss for both sides” but “the EU27 would bear a disproportionately smaller share of the total cost due to its larger size”.
