BRASÍLIA: Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower. At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.54% to hit a new 3-months low. The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 7.00% or 1.06 points to trade at 16.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 6.99% or 2.30 points to end at 35.20 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) was up 6.24% or 0.88 points to 14.98 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which fell 31.34% or 2.73 points to trade at 5.98 at the close. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) declined 10.94% or 0.97 points to end at 7.90 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) was down 6.23% or 0.71 points to 10.69. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 301 to 111 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) fell to 3-years lows; losing 31.34% or 2.73 to 5.98. Shares in Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.99% or 2.30 to 35.20. Shares in Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.24% or 0.88 to 14.98. The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.23% to 43.89. Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.50% or 6.31 to $1259.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.75% or 0.38 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.14% or 1.50 to trade at $130.52 . USD/BRL was up 0.59% to 3.2733, while EUR/BRL rose 0.88% to 3.6795. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 96.86.
