WASHINGTON: While global large-size TFT-LCD panel shipments and revenues in 2015 are expected to decrease on year, China-based maker BOE Technology will see its large-size panel shipments and consolidated revenues for the year increase 43% and 37% respectively, according to Digitimes Research.
BOE’s growth has been driven by expansion in production capacities for large-size and small- to medium-size panels and increases in orders, Digitimes Research indicated.
BOE’s overall production capacity in 2016 will grow 24.6% – 28% for large-size panels and 19% for small- to medium-size ones. Its revenues from panels in 2016 will also increase to CNY53.6 billion (US$8.3 billion).
BOE’s 8.5G total monthly capacity will reach 490,000 substrates in fourth-quarter 2019, exceeding Samsung Display’s 475,000 substrates and LG Display’s 450,000 substrates. When its 10.5G fab is completed, BOE will have the largest 8G and above production capacity among all panel makers around the world by 2019.
