OTTAWA: The Vermont Senate Committee on Finance is considering legislation that would allow the state to import prescription drugs from Canada.
The bill would essentially make Vermont a wholesaler, allowing the state to buy drugs from Canada at a much lower cost.
The measure has already received the support of the committee on health and welfare despite some concern over safety.
