ISLAMABAD: Belarus and Pakistan need to reach $1 billion in mutual trade, Industry Minister of Belarus Vitaly Vovk said on Monday.
“I have already said that we need to reach $1 billion in trade with Pakistan. Today we have $6-7 billion in trade with Ukraine which population is 45 million people,” the minister was quoted as saying by Belarusian news agency Belta.
He said “Just to compare, Pakistan is home to nearly 200 million people. It is a huge market. We should take a serious approach towards entering this market.”
The Belarusian Auto works is establishing cooperation with a number of Pakistani companies. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to Pakistan on 28-29 May.
The Belarusian leader held talks with President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
During the visit of the President of Belarus to Pakistan the parties signed nearly 20 documents that would help expand bilateral cooperation.
