ISLAMABAD: In order to allay the misconception being caused by a segment of print media regarding freezing of bank accounts held by non-filers of income tax return, it is clarified that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not issued any such instructions.
In a press release issued by FBR, the board further clarified that income tax law does not restrict banking transactions out of bank accounts held by any person whether filer or non-filer.
Tens of millions of Pakistanis are worried on the rumours spread by some media houses and now clarified by FBR. Millions of people are going to the bank to withdraw cash due to which banks are feeling the pressure and some may even close down due to so much of pressure on cash.
