DHAKA: The Border Security Force (BSF), on Thursday, apprehended a suspected gold smuggler and seized seven gold biscuits from him. The biscuits, weighing nearly 700 grams, is valued around Rs 19,37,026. The smuggler has been handed over to the Bongaon police station and the gold to the local customs office at Petrapole.
“Troops of the 40 Bn BSF, posted at the Haridaspur Border Outpost, received specific information of gold being smuggled across the border. Around 10.30 am on Thursday, the troops launched a special operation and intercepted an Indian national travelling towards the international border on a vehicle.
