DHAKA: Bangladesh Customs intelligence and investigation directorate officials have nabbed a smuggler and seized five sacks of foreign and Bangladeshi currencies and 528 pieces of gold bars worth about Tk30 cror from a residence of Purana Paltan area at Dhaka here the other day.
On a tip-off, a team of the intelligence force along with the Detective Branch (DB) of police raided the house and seized the currencies and gold bars.
One Mohammad Ali, 50, was arrested in this connection, director general of the directorate Mainul Khan told the Customs Today here the other day.
Mainul said the foreign currencies included Riyal, Dirham and Dollar. Besides, the weight the gold bar is 61 kilograms.
