CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Customs Intelligence has nabbed a gold smuggler and seized 30 gold bars worth Tk1.5 cror at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, here the other day.
Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong customs Selim Reza told Customs Today that “The detainee landed at the airport on a Biman Bangladesh flight around 10am on Wednesday.”
“He left behind his luggage and was trying to cross the immigration. On suspicion, we checked the bag and recovered the gold bars weighing 3.85kg,” he said.
The detainee could not be identified immediately.
