KARACHI: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Tariq Bajwa in his one-day visit to Customs House Karachi conducted several meetings with the officials of LTU, Preventive and Transit Trade.
The sources in Customs House told Customs Today that the FBR chief during his visit held a high-level meeting with Chief Collector (Enforcement), Chief Collector (Appraisement), Director General Transit Trade, Collectors, Additional Collectors, Deputy Collectors and others.
The sources further informed that the FBR chief stressed upon the initiatives in order to curb duty evasion on imported goods and to meet revenue targets.
“The FBR chief also emphasized on enhancement of performance of Central Control Room (CCR) and Mobile Enforcement Units at different check-posts in order to ensure safe and secure processing of imported goods on transit routes”, sources added.
They further informed that the FBR chief asked the Customs officials to discourage rising trend of ‘lobbying’ and ‘politicking’ in Customs Department.
The sources informed that Bajwa directed the Customs officials to keep strict vigilance on transit routes.
