SYDNE: The government has appointed career diplomat Andrew Goledzinowski as its new ambassador to work on people smuggling issues.
An experienced diplomat will help the federal government’s efforts to counter people smuggling.
Andrew Goledzinowski will start as Australia’s new Ambassador for People Smuggling Issues in December.
He takes over from Craig Chittick, who has held the position since 2012.
Mr Goledzinowski will work closely with the Operation Sovereign Borders taskforce the government set up to stop asylum seekers coming to Australia by boat.
