Meanwhile, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has submitted a budget proposal regarding Information Technology (IT) for upcoming fiscal year 2016-17
The Federal Finance Ministry has also granted approval to this proposal. The purpose of reducing tax from 8 percent to 2 percent is to promote IT and to boost IT exports.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Software Export Board and IT sector are demanding form long time to reduce the percentage of tax as the imposition of 8 percent tax has destroyed the export of IT in the country.
