ISLAMABAD: The Auditor General Pakistan has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to take action against those officials who failed to submit relevant record against 1,449 tax evaders.
Sources told Customs Today that according to the Auditor General Ordinance 2001, all the government department are bound to provide all necessary record to Auditor General for audit. Sources said that Auditor General of Pakistan during its meeting with Chief Commissioners asked to provide record of 1,449 tax evaders. Sources said that among these 1147 cases belong to Regional Tax Office Lahore, while 302 belong to Regional Tax Office Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the meeting of Public Accounts Committee Auditor General of Pakistan asked PAC members to ask FBR to provide all relevant details of tax evaders.
