ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) has issued notices to parties in a tax matter challenging issuance of a show cause notice by field office of Federal Board of Revenue. ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the case filed by M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited case.
M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited had prayed the court to ensure an announcement according to the law. Following which the court had remanded back the case to the tribunal. M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited had contested the show cause notice issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue.
According to details, the company had challenged the recovery notice issued to it under head of outstanding income tax by the Regional Tax Office, Islamabad.
M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2013 in head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of RTO including commissioner Inland Revenue, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) are made respondent in the case.
M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited prayed that the assessment order issued by the RTO officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
