ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) dated in office the hearing on a petition challenging a show cause notice issued by the field office of the Federal Board of Revenue regarding the outstanding taxes.
Accountant Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti had reserved the decision on the tax matter filed by M/s TNB Liberty Power Limited.
M/s TNB Liberty Power Limited had challenged the recovery under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU Islamabad.
M/s TNB Liberty Power Limited had submitted that the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2015 under the head of income tax under the provisions of Income Tax Ordinance-2001.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and officers of the LTU, including Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate
Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR), were made respondents in the case. The case was remanded back to the tribunal by the IHC a couple of months ago.
This case is one of the many remanded back by the IHC and being heard at the tribunal.
