KARACHI: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has started investigations against suspects involved in smuggling of high speed diesel worth millions of rupees.
According to the details, the ASO has registered two cases against suspects, Fazal and Abdul Rehman, who are allegedly involved in diesel smuggling. Sources informed Customs Today that a team of Mouchko police station intercepted a water tanker no TKA-920 and recovered 6,000 liter smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel worth millions of rupees. The customs authorities have registered a first information report against the suspects and started investigation.
In a another raid, accused namely Abdul Rehman was arrested while his loaded Mazda Truck No SEB-189 filled with 2500 liters smuggled Iranian Origin high speed Diesel (HSD) was taken in the possession by the concern officer.
Both the vehicles loaded with smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) was entering in the city through different land routes. The total recovered eight thousand and five hundred liters along with vehicles worth millions of rupees are in the custody of the Customs Intelligence & Investigation whereas further investigation have been started to dig out the master minds involved in the heinous crime.
