MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has arrested one constable deputed at Rahim Yar Khan airport on charges of his alleged involvement in mobile smuggling.
Sources told Customs Today that Multan customs investigation and prosecution found constable Syed Muhammad Aleem Akhtar involved in the smuggling of 341 expansive cell phones worth Rs 10.5 million.
The Customs has arrested the employee on the basis of investigation from a suspect, Muhammad Rizwan. The arrested constable has been investigated to ascertain his role in the clearance of smuggled cell phones. Sources claimed that the customs officials have found constable’s involvement in the smuggling of mobile phones through the call history of the accused smuggler.
Deputy Collector Muhammad Ali Malik gave direction to anti-smuggling organization after investigation and prosecution interrogation in the whole matter of mobile smuggling.
