KARACHI: Customs Collectorate of Preventive Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovers 8.85 kilograms of raw opium after a raid at RCD Highway.
According to the details, on the tip of higher authorities the staff of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Customs Collectorate of Preventive contacted the Pakistan Rangers Sindh for a joint raid at the at Moachko Check Point.
In a drive launched against the menace of narcotics transportation and smuggling, the staff of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Customs Collectorate of Preventive along with Pakistan Rangers 71 wing started search of the different vehicle.
During joint operation the officers of the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted the passenger bus and signaled the driver to stop. Both the Rangers personnel as well as the staff of the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) carried out search operation during which huge quantity of raw opium was recovered.
The source informed Customs Today that the recovered raw opium weight nearly 8.85 kilograms was concealed in the hidden places of the passenger bus which worth millions of rupees in the market. Three suspects were also apprehended and the passenger bus was entering Karachi from the city of Kharan in Balochistan.
Upon recovery of raw opium, the bus carrying the contraband was seized and three accused persons have been placed under arrest and FIR of the case has been lodged under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 whereas further investigations are underway.
