KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement (West) while following the instructions of Collector Muhammad Saleem has recovered Rs13.95 million in November, 2014.
It detected record number of short recovery cases i.e. total 66 in which the importers were involved in mis-declaration of value, non-application of correct valuation rulings, mis-declaration of PCT, mis-using of SROs and mis-using of classification in clearing their consignments.
According to details, the PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs1,385,658 from M/s Packages (Pvt) Ltd on non-application of valuation ruling on import of Ethyl Acetate and Bopet Film; recovered an amount of Rs33659 from M/s Hansol Chemicals & Co on mis-declaration of PCT/value on import of Hydrogen Peroxide; recovered an amount of Rs55,1567 from M/s CCL Pharma on non-application of Valuation Ruling on import of Rigid PVC File.
The PRV Cell with the teamwork has succeed to recover an amount of Rs98,570 from M/s Seven Star Impex on mis-declaration of value on import of Refined Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs119,679 from M/s Light Corporation on mis-declaration; recovered an amount of Rs265,651 from M/s Hial Confectionary on import of Cocoa Powder; recovered an amount of Rs8,2984 from M/s Sunshine Services on mis-declaration of value on import of tyres; recovered an amount of Rs41,8596 from M/s Hamdam Paper Production on mis-declaration of PCT on import of folding paper; recovered an amount of Rs211822 from M/s Ajwa Industries on mis-declaration of value on import of folding paper; recovered an amount of Rs5,762 from M/s N M Impex on mis-declaration of value on import of folding paper.
The PRV Cell recovered an amount of Rs25188 from M/s Gum Corporation on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs63411 from M/s Power Chemicals on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs25217 from M/s Gum Corporation on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs213386 on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs402502 from M/s Shan Associates on mis-declaration of value on import of Epoxy Resin; recovered an amount of Rs84189 from M/s Power Chemicals on import of Glycerine.
The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs193826 from Biafo Industries on mis-declaration of description on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs110427 from M/s Sunshine Services on mis-declaration of PCT/Classification on import of tyres; recovered an amount of Rs24918 from M/s Bulleshah Packages on mis-declaration of Steel wire rope; recovered an amount of Rs36348 from M/s Wintex Trading Co on mis-declaration of value of Steel wire.
The PRV Cell recovered an amount of Rs357734 from M/s Zafar Enterprises on mis-declaration of value of tyres; recovered an amount of Rs654720 from M/s M A Enterprises on non-application of PCT classification on import of Brass/SS Valve; recovered an amount of Rs200429 from M/s Khas (Pvt) Limited on mis-declaration of value on import of Metabisulphate; recovered an amount of Rs50417 from M/s Shan Traders on mis-using of PCT on import of rechargeable LED; recovered an amount of Rs240544 from M/s Alina Combine on mis-declaration of description and PCT on import of rechargeable LED; recovered an amount of Rs84189 from M/s Power Chemicals on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine.
The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs246904 from M/s Wah Nobel Limited on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs1652864 from M/s ATS Synthetic Pvt Limited on import of PVC suspension Resin; recovered an amount of Rs118837 from M/s Ilyas Sons on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs569682 from M/s Sana Laboratories on import of Rubber Stopper Glass-V; recovered an amount of Rs89022 from M/s M Ashraf & Sons on import of formic acid; recovered an amount of Rs907991 from M/s FYNK Pharma on import of Rubber Stopper; recovered an amount of Rs142412 from M/s Artistic Denim Mills on import of formic acid; recovered an amount of Rs255308 from M/s Valor Pharma on import of Rigid PVC Film; recovered an amount of Rs68271 from M/s K A Enterprises on import of Yarn; recovered an amount of Rs1435 from M/s Ashraf Riaz (Pvt) Limited on import of yarn and recovered an amount of Rs262440 from M/s Karachi Steel on import of Ferro Silicon 70per cent.
The sources informed Customs Today that Collector-MCC Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem has expressed his satisfaction over the recovery done by the PRV Cell in Nov,2014 and asked the authorities concerned to continue their same zealous efforts in recovering the revenue through detecting violation of Customs Act, 1969.
