LAHORE: The appointment of former Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhaira as Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
According to the details, an appeal has been filed in the LHC through an NGO. The counsel for the appellant Safder Shaheen Pirzada advocate filed the appeal, saying that appointment of Sukhaira is the violation of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Act.
He further mentioned that according to the law any government officer cannot be appointed on another seat within the two years of retirement. After passing the certain period, the retired officer can be appointed at any government seat.
Complainant also appeal before the Lahore High Court (LHC) that the appointment of Mushtaq Sukhaira as Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) is the violation of relevant laws, so the Lahore High Court (LHC) may restrict Mushtaq Sukhair to perform as Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) and may null and void the appoint of for IGP as Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO).
They have filed in the registrar office and the Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserve the right to hear or reject appeal it will be decided later on by LHC.
