CALIFORNIA: Amid stalling iPhone sales, many have claimed we are finally bored of Apple’s handset and have reach ‘peak iPhone’.
Now, a new report reveals that although the firm is experiencing a slump in iPhone growth, the tech giant has ordered 72 to 78 million units of its new iPhone 7 this year –10 million more than expected.
This is despite recent leaks that reveal the phones will look similar to the iPhone 6s – but will have enhanced internal components.
A report reveals that although the firm is experiencing a slump in iPhone growth, the tech giant ordered 72 to 78 million units this year –10 million more than the consensus from analysts expected. This positive outlook may suggest new exterior upgrades, but recent leaks reveal the phones will look very similar to the iPhone 6s
there is a chance that the iPhone 7 devices will largely mirror its predecessor on the outside, but will be loaded with new components on the inside.
The images show a new rear camera, but with the same beveled and protruding bump on the back casing.
However, the design of the camera does suggest improvements for better quality pictures and video.
The images also show the camera is aligned differently and is positioned closer to the top-left corner, reports 9to5Mac.
And playing into the redesign of the camera could be Apple’s most talked about feature, a dual-camera system – but just on the larger iPhone 7 Plus.
There are other rumors that say the iPhone 7 could be waterproof, which might be possible since there are fewer holes in the exterior.
This allegation coincides with Apple’s decision to omit the 3.5mm headphone jack, instead users will rely on Bluetooth and Lightning connector accessories.
Last month, Apple released its first quarter earnings for 2016, which showed a year-on-year drop in sales of its handset.
Apple says the slump in sales was caused by ‘macroeconomic headwinds’ and the iPhone 6 being ‘an anomaly’ as it offered an entirely new size handset.
But by tacking an extra 10 million to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus order, the firms seems to believe this year will put growth back on track.
However, there is a chance that the iPhone 7 devices will largely mirror its predecessor on the outside, but rumors say there will be various camera upgrades and redesigned antenna lines on the back, reports 9to5Mac.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are said to include upgraded components from Apple’s A10 processor, an increase in RAM to 3GB and it could have a massive 256 GB storage option.
Many different images and rumors of the variants have been coming showing up left and right, but the most recent comes from Weibo that claims the leaks are the real iPhone 7.
And it looks like the ‘shame of Apple’ will live on for another generation.

The dual-camera allows you to use both camera lenses simultaneously while shooting videos or snapping photos.
Apple’s software combines the images taken by each lens into a single product, and because of the limited space the firm will add the technology to the 5.5-inch iPhone.
What has been seen in other leaks is the redesigned antenna lines on the back of the iPhone 7.
Instead of lines running around the ends of the phones, the antenna lines are repositioned at the very edges of the device.

Most of these rumors and leaks have been floating around the World Wide Web for some time now, but over the weekend a purple case surfaced that showed some never seen before changes.
The images suggests a new layout for the camera and flash, including a hole for a larger aperture, reports NowhereElse.

‘Four speakers’ are shown in the leaks – two at the top of the case and the other at the bottom.
And unlike other designs, the flash is positioned underneath the camera lens and not to the side.
Although there are just a few small external changes, the internal upgrades could make up for it.
The Cupertino company is set to unveil the new variants in September, so anything can happen with the iPhone 7 line. No set pricing has been released, but most argue it will be in the same ballpark as previous handsets – around $650
