ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) will resume the hearing of a tax matter filed by M/s Huawei Technologies today (February 21).
Reportedly, ATIR Accountant Member Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti would hear the matter pending in the tribunal for several days. The bench also heard the matter last week and adjourned the hearing for further arguments.
According to details, M/s Huawei Technologies contested show cause notices issued by the Federal Board of Revenue to it in outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.
According to details, M/s Huawei Technologies had challenged a recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.
M/s Huawei Technologies had submitted the department had issued the notice under the provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 for the tax year 2013.
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) were made respondents in the case. The bench adjourned the hearing of the matter last week. This case was remanded back by the IHC. Both the appellants had challenged different show cause notices issued by the board’s field offices during recent months.
M/s Huawei Technologies prayed that the assessment order issued by the LTU officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
