ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 17.22 kilogrammes of drugs and 700 kilogrammes of prohibited chemical amounting Rs36 million in international market, while arrested 21 drug offenders and seized six vehicles in 18 counter narcotics operations conducted across the country.
The arrested offenders also include seven drug suppliers involved in supply of drugs among the students of academic institutions as ANF’s special drive focusing on apprehension of elements involved in supplying drugs to educational institutions, a press release said.
The recovered drugs comprised 14.5 Kg Hashish, 1.7 Kg Heroin, 700 Gram Opium, 100 Gram Amphetamine and 20 Gram Cocaine, while prohibited chemical includes 350 Kg Acetic Anhydride and 350 Kg Suspected Chemical.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda Accord car near Monal Down Town, Murree Road, Saddar, Rawalpindi and recovered 400 Gram Hashish from personal possession of an accused namely Muhammad Adil Sohail resident of Rawalpindi.
As per preliminary reports, he was also involved in supply of drugs to the students of academic institutions. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda car near Bahria Town, Islamabad and recovered 3.6 Kg Hashish and 100 Gram Amphetamine during search of the car.
A person on board identified as Syed Amir Ali Shah resident of Peshawar was arrested on the spot. Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Taimur Arslan resident of Rawalpindi along with 300 Gram Hashish and 20 Gram Cocaine.
He was arrested near Tehzeeb Bakers, Commercial Market, Chaklala Scheme-III. In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Sajnwali Bridge, Sanjwali, Attock and recovered 1.6 Kg Hashish and 700 Gram Opium during search of the vehicle. Two persons on board identified as Aamir Khan and Umer Hayat residents of Attock were arrested on the spot.
ANF Lahore arrested Abdul Razaq, Qasim and Muhammad Baqir who were reportedly involved in distribution of drugs among the students of the educational institutions, recovering 500 Gram Hashish which was found in their personal possession.
They were arrested near Nawaz Sharif University, old Shujabad Road, Multan. In another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 200 Gram Heroin by arresting a local drug peddler namely Imran Mehmood. He was arrested from Chak No. 30 JB, Aminpur Bangla Road, Faisalabad.
Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore recovered 500 Gram Hashish from Riasat Ali resident of Faisalabad. As per reports, he was involved in sale of drugs at local level. He was arrested near Rana Ghaffar Brick Kiln, Aminpur, Faisalabad.
In fourth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcyclist identified as Tasawar Raza Shah resident of Faisalabad near Chak No. 30 JB, Faisalabad and recovered 1.5 Kg Hashish from his possession. In fifth operation, ANF Lahore captured a parcel containing 7 jackets at an office of a courier service company based at Sialkot and seized 990 Gram Heroin tactfully concealed inside the jackets. The parcel was destined for Spain.
In sixth operation, ANF Lahore arrested Muhmmad Shahid, Nazar Hussain and Allah Bachaya residents of Muzaffargarh who were reportedly involved in supply of drugs to the students of various educational institutions, and recovered 390 Gram Hashish from their personal possession. They were arrested near Government Post Graduate College, Muzaffargarh.
In seventh operation, ANF Lahore recovered 150 Gram Heroin by arresting a local drug seller namely Nasir Masih resident of Lahore. He was arrested near Saddar Gol Chakar, Lahore.
In eighth operation, ANF Lahore apprehended Altaf Hussain resident of Khanewal along with 150 Gram Hashish. He was arrested near Government Degree College, Kabirwala, Khanewal. As per initial information, the accused was involved in supply of drugs to the students of academic institutions.
ANF Peshawar arrested two street drug peddlers including Hashim and Muhammad Abid both residents of Mansehra along with 108 Gram Hashish and 12 Gram Heroin. As per preliminary investigations, they were involved in supply of drugs to the students of the educational institutions.
They were arrested near Islamic Academy High School, Bat Darian, Mansehra. In another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 290 Gram Heroin by seizing a shipment containing quilt being sent to UK through a private courier service company based at Peshawar. Heroin was packed in polythene packs stitched in quilt. Yet in another operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 30 Gram Hashish from possession of an accused namely Syed Nadir Shah resident of Kohat who was arrested near Kohat University, Kohat.
As per reports, the accused was involved in supply of drugs in educational institutions. ANF Karachi arrested Muhammad, resident of Karachi who was reportedly involved in distribution of drugs to the students of the educational institutions, and recovered 80 Gram Heroin from his possession. He was arrested near TCF School, Rehri Goth, Malir, Karachi.
ANF Karachi on pursuance of information intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car near Sabzi Mandi, Sukkur and recovered 2 Kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. A person on board identified as Abdul Rasool resident of Jacobabad was arrested on the spot.
ANF Quetta while acting on a tip-off intercepted a Single Cabin Pick-up near University Complex, Turbat, District Kech and recovered three Kg Hashish concealed in it. A person involved in drug trafficking identified as Muhammad Waris resident of Kech was arrested on the spot. In another intelligence based operation, ANF Quetta raided an unoccupied house located at Yak Mach, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chaghi and seized 350 Liters Acetic Anhydride and 350 Kg Suspected chemical concealed inside the house. All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
