ANF arrests 14 drug traffickers including four ladies; seizes drugs worth Rs 245 million

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 21.6 kg heroin, 33.6 kg charas, 18 kg opium and 900 grams ice drug (amphetamine) worth Rs 245 millin, arresting 14 drug traffickers including four ladies.

ANF in its drive against drug trafficking, conducted nine operations across the country, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.

According to details, ANF Rawalpindi during routine surveillance detained a Nigerian national lady namely Miss Uche Lilian Ezegioha at airport and recovered 600 grams heroin, concealed in her luggage. She was boarding for Lagos through Qatar Airline Flight No QR-631.

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi on tip-off intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car bearing registration No.NCP-DMR-01-1011 near Wahab Shaheed Polo Ground, Jutial Gilgit and recovered 9 kg charas.  Three persons on board namely Shakir Wali, Javed Khan and Muhammad Ghani,all residents of Diamir were arrested on the spot. As per initial reports, the accused were involved in supply of drugs at local level.

ANF Lahore arrested two lady smugglers namely Sumbal and Aqsa,both residents of Charsada along with their male accomplice Muhammad Suleman, resident of Kohah and recovered 15.6 kg charas.

They were travelling in a passenger bus near main Motorway Kot Abdul Malik Interchange, Sheikhupura. As per preliminary information, they were coming from Peshawar, and intended to deliver the drugs to local peddlers in different area of Punjab.

Similarly ANF Lahore in an information based operation near Kot Abdul Malik Interchange, Sheikhupura, seized a Mini Truck Mazda bearing registration No. K-6633. During search of the vehicle, 18 kg opium was recovered from improvised cavity under the rear bumper of the vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle, namely Amad Ali, resident of Mardan and Bahir Ali, resident of Nowshera were arrested on the spot.

ANF Lahore Airport intercepted two suspected passengers named Muhammad Imran, resident of Faisalabad and his lady accomplice namely Robina Sheen, resident of Sargodha.  On checking of their luggage, 900 gram ice drug (amphetamine) was recovered. Ice drug was concealed in empty packets of shaving cream. Both the accused intended to board for Jeddah by Shaheen Airline FlightNo.NL-717.

ANF during routine checking at Peshawar airport detained two passengers namely Inayat Khan and Soorat Gul who confessed of having gulped heroin filled capsules. The both accused intended to fly for Dubai by Shaheen Airline.

ANF at Peshawar Airport, held a passenger namely Sameed Ullah and recovered 1000 grams heroin, wrapped with his legs. The accused intended to fly for Doha by Qatar Airline Flight No. QR-609.

ANF Karachi raided the Ibrahim Haideri an area of Karachi and seized 20 kg heroin and 9 kg charas from the premises. However, the accused are still at large, and efforts are in hand to arrest the absconders.

Cases have been registered against all the arrestee at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
