KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I has issued a show-cause notice to M/s ZR Traders for allegedly evading duty and taxes of Rs 2.42 million.
According to the show-cause notice issued to the company, during the scrutiny of import data related to the imports of hard plastic pipes, it was revealed that M/s ZR Traders, with active connivance of their clearing agents M/s Unique shipping, imported three consignment of hard plastic pipes under PCT Heading 9600.2500 and cleared the subject goods at lower values than the values determined vide valuation database letter issued by Directorate General Customs Valuation on May 7, 2015.
It was observed that the importer intentionally and deliberately got the subject goods cleared at lower values with mala-fide intention to deprive the government exchequer of its legitimate revenue.
It was evident that M/s ZR Traders willfully and intentionally got their consignments cleared at lower values and evaded duty / taxes to the tune of Rs 2.43 million.
It is necessary to mention here that Customs Adjudication has already expedited their efforts to conclude the hearing of the pending cases on priority basis.
