QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta confiscated a huge quantity of foreign origin hashish worth Rs21million.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Iran Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle the foreign origin hashish from Quetta into different cities of Pakistan.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. Team In-charge Shabbir Ahmed Khan and others enhanced the vigilance on the Quetta Baloki check-post and started a search operation of vehicles.
During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration No: KS-2232 which was going out of the city. During the checking, the customs team recovered 222-kg hashish worth Rs21million. The customs team seized the hashish and arrested the driver.
The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smuggler.
Earlier, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated non-duty-paid Italy made juicer blenders and air-conditioners (Split) worth Rs5.50million.
