KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate-Export and Collectorate of Customs-Adjudication have finalized their budget proposals for the fiscal year 2016-17, it is learnt here.
The sources informed Customs Today that both the collectorates have finalized the budget draft and are giving it final touch. The draft will be forwarded to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters.
The sources informed that the Customs-Exports has given 11 proposals, recommending the FBR to introduce new export policy in the next fiscal year.
On the other hand, the collectorate of Customs-Adjudication has suggested the legal branch of the FBR to introduce some changes in the process of adjudication for ensuring early disposal of cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs Exports and Customs Adjudication started work on the budget proposals in April 2016.
After completing the entire process of preparation of budget proposals, the authorities concerned of both the collectorates have submitted those in the office of the collectors for final approval.
The sources further informed that both the collectorates would send the budget proposals to the FBR Headquarters by the end of May-2016.
