SOFIA: 14 customs officers detained at Bulgaria’s Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint were released from custody by the Specialised Criminal Court late on Wednesday evening.
The court also set bail on the defendants accused of involvement in a crime group which took bribes.
The prosecution had requested they were all imposed restraining orders of arrest.
Bail was set at BGN 20,000 on defendants Georgi Rakovski, Stoyan Krastev, Nikolay Kolev, and Atanas Atanasov.
Defendants Atanas Stoychev, Tsvetomir Petrov, Atanas Cholakov, Georgi Gramelov, Dimitar Kostov, Stefan Krumov, Kosta Kostadinov, and Anton Stefanov had bail set at BGN 10,000, while Petko Ayrakov and Dimitar Lilyanov will have to post bail of BGN 5,000.
