LAHORE: Newly recruited 112 Customs sepoys have joined their duties and reported to their respective station following the completion of their month long training.
Sources told Customs Today that these sepoys have given their joining at the sections and started working at various station including Customs Preventive, Customs Appraisement, Customs Post Clearance Audit, Customs Adjudication and others. The newly appointed sepoys were sent on training arranged by the Directorate General Training and Research.
A sepoy told Customs Today that they enjoyed their training and were taught so many subjects which would help the sepoys in their professional life.
The training was held at the Civil Defence Training School while it was orgnanized under the supervision of Director Seema Shahzad and deputy director also looked after the traning of the newly appointed Customs sepoys.
A senior customs official said that the sepoys were trained on modern lines and they are now capable to cope with the new challenges which the customs officials have to go through.
As the course was exclusively designed for the customs sepoys by DGTR (Customs) Karachi and is duly approved by the board. The sepoys were taught customs law, rules, procedures etc. in addition to other relevant modules.
It is pertinent to mention here a significant event in the history of Pakistan Customs, when as many as 113 newly recruited sepoys from multiple directorates and collectorates of the Customs Central Region joined the two months specialized training programme at Lahore.
