110 mmcfd gas reduction: SSGC shuts CNG stations for 4 days in next week

KARACHI: Following an accident in a gas plant, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited has announced four-day CNG stations closure schedule for the next week.

The pipeline and the boiler have been damaged and the plant has been shut down. Consequently, SSGC’s system is faced with the reduction of 110 mmcfd gas, due to which, our customers may face inconvenience. Teams from SSGC, SNGPL and PPL are on ground to repair the damages caused by the accident and it is expected that the repair work would be completed within next 48 hours.

SSGC is trying to maintain optimum pressure to the domestic and commercial customers and has accordingly planned the gas distribution as per the load management plan. Industrial customers, on the other hand, are requested to reduce their load by at least 30%. In addition, gas supply closure to industrial and captive power customers on Sunday will be as per the schedule and SSGC expects industries to ensure its strict compliance. As a result of the curtailed supply, CNG stations will remain closed in the coming week for 24 hours from 8am onwards on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. SSGC regrets the inconvenience caused to its customers and expects their utmost cooperation in this regard.
