100MW electricity: Russian companies ready to invest in Pakistan’s solar energy sector

SIALKOT: Russian Trade Representative in Pakistan, Yury Kozlov, has revealed that a lot of Russian companies are willing to invest in Pakistan’s solar energy sector.

Yury Kozlov said this during a meeting with local traders and exporters at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). He said that Russian companies want to establish a 100MW solar power generation station to help the export-oriented industries in the city deal with the energy crises. He assured the Sialkot business community of simplifying the Russian banking system and removing hurdles to encourage international trade.

The Russian trade representative also pledged to make efforts to ensure direct imports of Sialkot-made products instead of purchasing them from European countries at high prices. He said that Russia is keen in developing strong mutual trade ties with Pakistan.
